Michael Campbell enjoyed a long sleep-in before teeing-up late afternoon in his second round of the rain-affected Barclay’s Singapore Open.
Three hours in play was lost on Thursday in the $US5m event mid-afternoon and just after Campbell had carded a 76.
It meant those in the second half of the draw was unable to complete their first round and they had to back in place where they left off early on Friday.
But then another tropical downpour forced a second stoppage near 11.30am leaving still six players to finish their first round.
Finally at 1.30pm local time officials could credit England’s Ian Poulter, who carded a five under par 66, with the first round lead in the inaugural Asian and European Tour event.
Campbell's second round tee time was initially 12.50pm but then that was put back to 3.25pm and then to a very late 5.30pm.
“It means I’m only going to play about four to five holes but then we can’t control the weather and it’s the same for everyone,” said Campbell.
“Hopefully I can manage to pick-up a few birdies and then it’s going to be an early night
