The opening round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational was not very kind to Michael Campbell after recording an eight-over par 80 on the Bay Hill course.
Campbell had just one birdie in his round at the par five, 16th.
What ruined the efforts of the former U.S. Open champion was back-to-back double bogeys at the fourth and fifth holes that saw Campbell drop to four-over par in the $US 6m event being hosted by legendary Arnold Palmer.
Campbell then dropped further shots at the ninth and 14th holes before taking a third double bogey at the par five 15th with his birdie sandwiched between that and a bogey at the 16th.
